Hi, can anyone guide me through this dimming thermostat? The instructions seem straightforward, and I set up the day cycle to start at 7am, and the night cycle to start at 7pm, both at 32.8

I set this thermostat up last night, at 7am this morning it just switched the heat pad off. After mucking around for a while and not being able to get it to start the heat pad back up, my joeys started to cool down too much so I plugged them back into a different (switching) thermostat.

We set the Jet-005 up in the office around 3pm and it heated a heat pad up. Great. But then at 7pm when it was to switch to the night cycle, it has just switched the heat pad off again. We dont know how to solve this!

Also, if someone could tell me what the 1st and 3rd symbol even mean, that would be great too. I have tried to look up more details on this thermostat online and there is just nothing out there!

They reckon sometimes the sockets are back to front did you check that? If you can't sort it out maybe pm the person in that thread and ask them for some help, I'm sure they will help you out even if you didn't purchase it off them.

Thanks Newhere. I did try the other socket just before but no change. Pretty sure its in the right one, as it worked all night overnight, keeping the temp steady, then turned off at 7am when it was meant to switch to the day temp. Then when we set it up this afternoon, it worked all day again then switched off at 7pm when it was meant to switch to the night temp.

Fair enough it might be faulty, maybe get in contact with the people you got it off and see what they say.

Hope you get it working.

This is what I have deduced:

The display tells me that there is heating output (meaning it thinks the heat pad is on), and when i made the probe hotter than our desired temp, the display told me that it had switched off heat output. So this tells me that the thermostat thinks it is working, but there is just nothing happening with any device plugged into it.

Last night I had two heat pads plugged into a double adaptor which was plugged into the thermostat. There was an almighty pop and the plug on heatmat2 fried. I put both joeys into the same pouch and just ran heatmat1 for the rest of the night, but I'm thinking the power socket on the thermostat has fried too and just took a while to completely die. MAYBE.

The first icon is heating output ,the second light on,third icon is alarm over temperature, you set in current time ,then the night and day, just so many settings to deal with and the tiny buttons are frustrating.
Its when the icons are flashing that you set and they go from one to the other ,used to have two and Bryce from BFR offered me a couple as he thought rightly that they was over complex. The purple screen looks sexy but craps itself in a few weeks then things get real hard to see (thats why the chinese have squinty eyes, its from setting these things) ,the tiny buttons go next as you have worn them out from trying to figure out how in hell it all works. But hey, when you get the thing to work right for a few days its like a victory and you will try and brag to your friends and tell them of this advanced technology that found its way into your hands.
Never has a habistat looked so good ,turn the little dial to a number too easy , ones i had were pulsing as when the plugged into a computer fan they would rev on and off ,yours may be dimming, soon know when they are plugged into a light.
Ime about to read your last post good luck

Best to remove any sharp objects or things that could be used for self harm, get cup of coffee with whisky in it (to sedate yourself )
Then get several copys of instructions and magnifying glass to see good as you really need them (every day )
OK, now you read and experiment ,dont test on live animals ,really.
After you have done a few weeks in frustration ring Brian Barnett at Herp Shop and get a habistat.

You set the time into device ,then there is timing start and finish for 1 and timing period start and finish for two ,plugs one and two,
then theres the maximum and minimum temp settings ,alarm settings, temperature variance

Haha love it... I think I have a habistat one on the snake tank, never had a fault with them... got this one because it was what the shop had and it seems great, once I had it working anyway... And I've needed that whiskey for a while now... two devil wallabies that fuss with their bottle every time! I call them the devil children (the possum joey is the 'favourite child' haha)

I was going to get one of these when I set my enclosure up. This thread just saved me $70. Thank you :)

Shell you're lucky you get to keep and raise them that is so cool and I bet they are so cute :)

When they fist came out were 40 bucks in plain box on ebay , ime trying to put the experience in past but get flash backs, black douglas helps.

Spoke to the person who sold it to me, and I have swapped it for a Microclimate B1 instead. He recommended the Microclimate to me first but I opted for a cheaper option. Lesson learnt.
Will be sending away the faulty one under the warranty.

The warranty on the microclimate is two years now i believe, drink the whisky anyway LOL

Hi im having trouble with this thermostat to it was working fine then today it decided that you cant set the temp any higher than thirty-six degrees, has anyone else had this trouble???????

I have one of these also, works well but the backlight in the screen died within the first week so bit of a pain when trying to check if its all working ok as you can only just see whats on the screen.

The old purple screen for a week trick then nothing ,look good while they work though.

Was tempted to buy one of these myself a while back.
There are some happy users out there but I found more unhappy ones when I started asking questions so I elected to stay with Habistat/Microclimate. They just do what it says on the box, simple, easy & reliable.
While they might not look as flash & they are more pricey they are much more reliable.

Brian does these at a great price from the Herpshop, why take risks to save 40 bucks when you have so much to lose.
