Hi all,

I have researched these two Thermostats and have a few conflicting pieces of information, so I thought I would bring it here to finally have some peace of mind.

At the moment I am achieving a solid 31.4 degrees at the hot end of my hatchling's click clack, however, I am looking to build myself a small enclosure that I can use instead of the plastic eyesore and would like a thermostat before I even gather my materials for the enclosure. First of all, I would like say that this will be used for a heat mat. I have been looking at the Habistat Pulse Proportional Thermostat, however, I can't find a good place to purchase this from, any ideas? I had a look at 'The Herp Shop' website, but I would much rather an 'add to cart' purchase method. I have now found the JET-001 and JET-005 thermostats and notice that they are a lot cheaper and like the LCD display.

Would it be more power efficient to get the Habistat thermostat? How well to the JET thermostats work with both a light and heat mat (I noticed in one thread that someone said to throw the JET in a bin and get a Habistat or Microclimate)? What are my options for purchasing a Habistat (online places or stores I can order through)?

Thanks,

Harley

Okay, thankyou for that! I sent an order form but not sure if it worked. So I will email him and get it through that way. I found Victoria Reptiles who sell the Habistat range for the same price, however, I cannot add anything to my cart. Any news on the JET thermostats?

I cannot agree enough with the sentiments of this post.
Great to deal with.

If you read through previous threads on thermostats you will find were Bart70 and i discussed the JET range, i have the JET-001 and since it's purchase i cannot fault it's operation at all, it is a day/night on off thermostat/timer, Bart70 has the JET-005 it is a day/night dimming thermostat timer and he has also had no problems with it, but if i had no price restrictions i would deff purchase the Habistat PPT as it has a proven track record of reliability and longevity, however for my hatchy spotteds in their click clacks i use the JET-200 digital thermostat with the probe directly on the heat mat controlling 2 click clacks with no probs at all and keeps them both at a steady 33 deg 24/7 at the hot end, so thats all the info i can give you on the JET's now it is just up to you to make up your mind :) .................................Ron

Thanks Ron! Today I ordered and paid for the Habistat PPT after everyone's positive comments about 'The Herp Shop.' That came to a total $124 (including postage) and I figure that if they last and work well then my little Stimson would appreciate it! However, after your statements about the JET thermostats I will probably use that for when I get another python in the future to try them out for myself! Thank you all for your help! It was greatly appreciated!
