Hey so was talking to a breeder about axanthic jungle and jungle jags. Apparently the axanthic jungle gene is julatten as axanthics are rare in jungles. If i were to get a julatten and breed it with my jag, what genetic trait does julatten have? If its recessive will i need a het julatten jag jungle x julatten jungle? Or is it doninant or co dominant?
Thanks :)

Julatten isn’t a gene… it’s a location… aka a locale colour type

Axanthic isn’t rare at all in Jungles… it’s about as common as in Coastals

They don’t even look similar

Find a new breeder mate,

You’d get a muddied jungle jag clutch, the julatten “purity” will be gone (assuming it’s pure julatten)

I’ve attached a Julatten jungle bred by yellow tail + a Ax jungle bred by Roger Lester
