Hey guys i have a gorgeouse little 10 month old palmerstone jungle at home who doesnt seem to be changing from white to high yellow. Can someone tell me how old he will be when he will turn yellow. He has had 2 sheds and the most i can see is a light tinge of yellow around his eyes.

nice looking jungle do you know when you bought it they the breeder said its a yellow and black ora black and white jungle that looks like it will stay black and white for good

Thanks. The breeder told me he would be high yellow like his parents. Really call me ignorant but i didnt know that could happen. The rest of the clutch had more yellow on the 4 months ago and 2 of the others which i bought are black and gold.

Thanks hes the most perfect snake i have ever owned. So easy going and almost afectionate.

Im hoping to get my own b&w Some time soon, hope it's as nice as that.

I think i was really lucky with his temprement he would quite happily sit on my shoulder all day occasionaly lifiting his head to suss out whats going on. But the other two are pretty nasty. The female is currently planning my death. And the other boy is super cage defensive and will throw his whole body at me in order to bite. at least at this age they dont do any damage. not looking forward to it when they get big.

They'll most probably calm down with age and more importantly size.
Anything big is a predator ready to eat it. :)

Haha typical jungle temper, hope your other two calm down but I've read it takes a lil work,

It's not a B&W jungle, just a very pale yellow one. you will always get the odd one here and there that does not colour up as much as the rest. Or the possibility of breeder showing you animals from a better clutch and saying that one was from the same clutch just to get a sale and move the "crappier" looking ones. I don't know the person who sold it to you and it is by no means a reflection on them. But it is something that does happen too often,

lots of persistence and handling they will eventally settle down, some will take much more work then others my palmy strio stripes are physcotic but they are showing signs of slowly settling down

Does that make my boy a "crappy" jungle? what will happen if breed him? will his offspring be less value if they look like him?

Give it time to colour up - i had one in my last clutch that took forever to get any yellow on it and then with a couple of sheds the colour really started to come through. The rest of the clutch developed colour a lot earlier than this one so maybe yours is just a late bloomer!

Good luck with him.

Cheers,
Dave

The breeder couldnt say if it will end up high yellow, mother nature will prevail all in good time..Your little bloke may be just taking a bit more time then others, while on the other hand,it may not get as yellow as you may want it too.Every snake in a clutch can-will turn out different, some can be fluro yellow, while others may just get a pale yellow,ONLY TIME WILL TELL...
