What others have already said about temps, enclosure size, scenting and braining is very good advice. Only other thing that I can add from experience is that I have a young jungle that is very fussy about the temperature of the prey item and as others have said to warm up the food, my girl wont eat any thing cooler than giving off 31 degrees, if its lower than that, she is more interested in the heat given off by my hand, oh oh! Thats my girl anyway. I suspect that your issue is to do with the enclosure temps/size though. Sounds like you have already got that sorted out now.
Personally I would not buy an animal that has only had one feed if Im not able to get them feeding on my own, doesnt exactly sound like an established feeder. It helps if you can see the animal feed when you inspect the animal for sale.
Good luck with the little guy.
