Hi Everyone. Going to get a baby snake soon. Probably a carpet python or an Olive python. I will be getting a 4x2x2 enclosure for the first few years and later invest in a 6x4x2 when its big. My questions today are.
1. Do I need to quarantine the snake?
2. Should I put it in a tub for a couple months until it's a little bit bigger for the 4x2x2?
3. What needs to go in the tub? Paper towel, hide, any lights? What heat? Mats or heat light?
Appreciate your help.

1) Do you know what quarantine means?

2) Yes. Generally, an enclosure about half the length of the snake makes them happiest, and not going too large is especially important for youngsters.

3) Your preference of substrate (paper towel is often best for tubs, but there's a lot of scope for personal preference). Heat lamps for tubs are ideal if you plan to eat your snake and don't want it to be raw, or if you hate the snake and want to stop it being alive.
