frozen would be better than canned I think, problem with canned if I`m right is they are dry and when you dry them you lose nutients.

Nope they're not dry. Think can of tinned sardines and you're getting close :)

I like the grasshoppers for a bit of variety for my frilly, but I dont feed them regularly. Good to have in the cupboard as an emergency food too as they last forever.

I dont think it would economically viable to only feed canned insects - they're no where near as cost effective as live food.

Seems like a huge pain in the bum to use tin insects. Most of my animals wont eat insects unless their moving, so I would say I'd have to go live any day! Plus tin insects can't reproduce, so save lots of money using live!

I dont feed canned insects but i am into canned snails, the Indonesian ones that are for human consumption are cheap and after a rinse they get taken by heaps of different species of captive animals.

If they had canned insects that are made for human consumption id think seriously about trying them.
Never thought of looking for canned snails for human consumption. I will be on the look out now for my Blue Tongues. It is rare to get live snails here but sometimes the pet shop has them frozen. I ordered a can of reptile food snails online once but they where out of stock so I had them substitute with a can of silk worm pupa.
The Blue Tongues ate them but didn't seem very fond of them. None of my other lizards would touch them.
Most take defrosted roaches so I keep those in the freezer as back up to live insects.
