I have noticed a little kinda bite mark just behind my female knob pilbs neck, just were the male usually bites while mating...
Do you guys notice this on mated girls or is this something else?
Cannot get pics as she is shedding but will do ASAP.

Cheers!

Hey,

Yes this is probably caused by the male biting like you said. My females will often have some marks on the mid to upper back area too. Congrats! In about a month she will hopefully lay a couple of healthy fertilised eggs :)

Wow! Really! Thanks!
I didn't want to keep my hopes up.
Thank you!

Yeah it's a good sign. They could always back out from that stage but its unlikely and they're bound to get it right the next few goes. Keen for some picks in a few weeks of your female. If she's shedding it's probably too late for a shot of the bite marks

Absolutely horrible pic, my phone is horrible.

Since she shed it's harder to see.

Not the type of close up I was after, it's too close, but thanks for the effort. Do you have any more recent photos? :)

Haha sorry, I'll upload some more Ina sec.
She dug a kinda burrow earlier this morning, and now she is starving and the hole is backfilled. There is no eggs visible on the bottom of the tank though.

There was no eggs... BUT she has put almost a gram on and the pink on the flanks has started to develop.

How do you know there were no eggs? Has her weight started to drop again? I think they might be able to reabsorb them if conditions aren't right. I have no idea if this is the case but I have seen by female look gravid and then loses weight and never lays...

Oh as In there are no eggs where she had earlier excavated the burrow. Her weight has increased from 22 to 24 grams...

Yeah she could just be going through the motions to practice for when the time comes. If she's increased in weight a couple of grams that's good. An egg weighs about a gram from memory. I don't like to really weigh and handle either gecko or egg during the gravid period. The less stressed the animal is during this time the better.

Thank you for all your help :)
I have started calcium dusting the crickets so hopefully all goes well.
