To be honest I'd have to say if my old man got dragged away by a croc, the last thing I would be doing at the time is telling everyone don't shoot it..

I'm not saying I agree with going out and killing every croc up there but gee.. I think we need to stand back and realise there is a grieving family here.
 
Seriously though, it's a bit like having a crackpot father running up to the local golf course and waving a golf iron around in the air in an electrical storm, sooner or later you are bound to get hit :lol:

Can I use a few clich?s: It's a bit like closing the gate after the horse has bolted.
Like crying over spilt milk....ummm is there anymore??? :lol:
 
He was a local wasn't he? In north QLD you don't swim in summer due to box jellys and don't fish in a canoe with big salt water crocs around. Understand the animal and it habits and you're as safe as you can be. You're never bulletproof but as craig.a.c said you take a risk. Hell people take a risk driving in peak hour traffic. Hopefully the authorities will learn from this and be less gungho about situations like this in the future (we can dream).
