Has anyone had any luck taking apart and fixing microclimates?

I have one that is stuck on full power. I think it has something to do with the temperature dial rather than the sensor, as fiddling with the temp. dial will occasionally take it off full power.

I've taken it apart and manually moved the temp. dial but still no luck.

If it is the microclimate B1 dimming thermostat then yes I have had two fail the same way in the past. It is a $3 part called a triac that you can get from Jaycar and solder in if you are handy with a soldering iron.

Cheers Andynic, is the triac where the temp dial is or is it a separate part?

Separate part mate. I think this is the one you need but if not it looks the same if you look for one like this and get the rating from it and make sure the one you get is equal or better than the one that is in it. A very cheap fix rather than buying a new thermostat.
