This is where my little goulds live at the moment.
They will get an 8x4x2 when they are a bit bigger.
Then an 8m x 2m when they grow up and in outside.[/QUOTE
TWENTY B, you should not use rocks or slate or anything that is heavy in the enclosure with your juvenile Sand Monitor's, what if one of them digs a burrow in the sand under a rock and it caves in on it, the juvenile Sand Monitor's will struggle to move and may end up dead.
You should take this advice seriously if you want your 4 juvenile Sand Monitor's to live, and hopefully grow to be a adult Sand Monitor.
You know that l have kept these Monitor's for more than 15yrs, and l sure know what l'm talking about here, if your not willing to take my advice l have offer to you, l hope they all grow ro be a adult Sand Monitor.

not to be disrespectfull, but do you take me for an Idiot?
seriously......
the slate is not just sitting on the sand... it's all suspended on other bits (acting like legs) or on rat houses sunk into the sand
everything is touching the bottom of the enclosure, or is ontop of something that is touching the bottom...
nothing can collapse. i could stand my 98kg on that and not have it collapse
Have you got any close-up side shots are your monitor's head? From the looks of that first photo, it may be 'her' enclosure rather than 'his'.Heres My lacey in his enclosure i built...he's about a 1 year and a lil bit!
