ok problem is when its 15'c on the cold spot it gets down to 28-29'C on the warm spot. i am considering placing a towl underneath the warm spot to increase insulation.

he's darling and he may be snappy now but will calm down. At this size a bite is a shock but barely can break the skin (that's if they even open their mouth). I got bitten about a dozen times calming down my first two and they would have been much bigger. Good luck and have fun.
Yeah the tank would be better slack boy, should give larger temp gradiant, and the larger the better, especially this time of year.
yup yup yup... but he seems to have settled in a bit... he was home by himself all day today... so he's had a bit of time to adjust.. he doesnt look like he wants to bite me everytime he see's me.. so i guess thats a good start :mrgreen:looking quite fiesty hehehe
you'll also have to get the pegboard an inch or two bigger then the tank and cut 4 squares of wood to attach to the peg board so they sit nice and snug in the corners of the tank... that way if it gets bumped or something the pegboard wont be able to move..so pegboard ontop with a couple bricks as weights? seems easy enough!

sounds like a good idea slacky... how's it all going down your way? have you been able to get an import licence yet??think i will just screw on edge peices 2 on either side of the length and 1 one each of the width sides. so when its placed ontop it cannot move.
