Hey my diamond doesn't ever come out of its hide, its winter here if that would help, iv recently moved him into a larger enclosure about 4-5 days ago but i used the same hides stick wood and such that was in the last enclosure but its enclosure was like 40cm deep and about 60 cm wide and about 50cm and hight, i kept him in that because i couldnt afford a larger one at the time, i know it was to small and plus i could only give it heating pad, no UV lights or inferred lights, his 2yrs old now and he never comes out of its hide, since i was financial bad and was at work a lot i havnt been handling him, for a while now he like hisses at me before i handle him before he use to never hiss and would not mind me handling him, could anyone explain what i can do or if this is normal thing, as i am first time snake owner.

Little more info... Temps inside enclosure? Heat source? Thermostat in use?

Being in its hide could be a result of it still getting used to its new home, it has only been 4 days. Does it come out at night when it's dark in the room?

As for the hissing, I think you answered that yourself, it is no longer used to being handled and may be a little scared when you approach. Is it still eating? When was last feed and what size food?

It doesn't sound like there's anything to worry about.
This behaviour is within the range of normal.

How long is the snake and what are the dimensions of its new enclosure?
Overly large enclosures can sometimes freak juvenile snakes out.

It's not winter in Sydney at this time of year or are you somewhere else?
