I really need help here really odd and i cant find anything on this but our frilled is about 5 months old and is all of a sudden starting to loose toes he already lost apart of his tail a little bit after we had gotten him now its his toes we are really worried about this taking him to the vet tomorrow but does anyone have any idea what is going on!! Is it a problem maybe with the breeder?? He did mention they had bone problems in the past hmmm im lost at the moment and very worried :?

he hasnt really had a full shed yet but he does shed his tail has only just shed now for the first tim and only half of it

Could you possibly post some pics? Either way I think its best to visit a vet!

How dry is the enclosure? Is there any chance that it has regularly had damp toes? This can lead to a fungal infection causing the toes to basically rot off.

This can be a problem monitor and I presume dragon lizards that come from dry climates.

The good news it will probably recover ok but the toes will never grow back which will mean it will be missing claws. For a frilly this will impair its climbing ability but not the end of the world.

Are you feeding it calcium supplements and is it under a uva/uvb Light source? Young dragons will often loose sections of tail and toes etc if they are suffering from a calcium deficiency.

Is it housed by itself? If it is housed with other animals including and most specifically siblings then a shortage of food will tend to make dragons chew each others toes and tails off. Particularly prevelant in young bearded dragons housed together in a large group and not fed enough.

sorry was just taking some pics i got the best i can get just trying to work out how to load them up

his in his own enclosure has been from the day we got him....we put cal dust on his crickets and uvb 10.0 he has a water bowl but thats the only wetness in his tank he does sit in it everyday for a little while but not very long

the strangest thing is that they look ok u cant see any damage b4 they fall off they just fall off

you are not leaving crickets in there overnight are you?

Some better pictures would help ;-)

Perhaps you could describe the shape of the end of the toes?

his toes look normal but flimsy when there about to drop off but other wise look norm and once they do drop off there not raw or anything just no toe almost just looks like his nail has fallen off
