If you cant take the heat, then get out of the fire... If you go by that saying, then yes, sell him... Herps take time, and if you arent willing to put time, effort and a hell of a lot of patience into them, then it isnt the hobby for you... And giving up on him after that long shows you dont exactly have the patience etc needed... You obviously dont like him enough if you are even contemplating selling him for that reason alone (the not handling well reason)...
Don't become a breeder now will you... It takes a lot more time, patience and effort to raise a whole clutch (or more than one clutch) and get them feeding properly and even handling before they are good to sell to beginners and general herp people who are willing to put up with a fussy feeder or handler...
