I have a female stimson who is very placid - she has only bitten once and it was because I used to open her cage by sticking my finger in and pulling the glass... I had a choice of 2 hatchies when I got her - one that missed the mouse and bit the breeder once, or my snake - the one that had never bitten him.
My male stimson is ready to strike as soon as you are near his cage and is very happy to bite anything that moves (including the curtain)!
My husbands female bredli is very cage protective and cranky now she is an adult. She hasn't actually bitten since she was a hatchy, but we are waiting for it to happen.
The male bredli we bought at about 1 yr old and we were told he was snappy but he has never bitten us.
I do not hold the male stimson, if I have to go near him I wear rubber gloves in the hopes that he lets go quickly - apparently they hate the taste.
