They are shy creatures, Ive found my spotted alot more private than other snakes iv had.

Hahaha, no Naomi, just 2 windows and plenty of beautiful moonlight

I must have an exception....

My girl (6 months old) spends more time out of her hide during the day than within it...choosing to lie beside a lot of the time.

if she is in her hide and she notices you come close she will rise out of her hide (has sort of an upward facing entry) and stretch out to the lid of her tub towards us to say Hi...

She has been a bit of an affectionate extrovert since we got her though.....She spends more time out in full view seeking attention more than my Morelia's.

Mines about 18 months actually shes probably closer to 20 months now. I catch her out every so often when she goes for a drink or she pokes her head out when shes hungry. Other than that i dont see her.

3 days in a row ive gone to pick her up, i take the hide off her and she immidiately looks at me and goes back in an s shape.. themn she will turn around and slither away and when i touch her she gets shocked and legs it away.. cant hold her :(

I always warn my guys i am coming I tap on the enclousure then on the hide before I pick it up they nearly always shy away and "jump" when i first touch them, I think its a natural thing for them to not want to be picked up. My advise would be to just gently pick her up anyway, she will soon settle.

no you can but be patient i would recommend either a leather glove to get her out and then handle bare handed so she gets used to your hands or use a small snake hook to get her out. mine is the same as yours they tame down but you have to accept the fact that you will be bitten a few times minimum before she settles down and make sure you handle her everyday for around 10 minutes to start with and when she gets more comfortable start handling her longer.
hope this helps
