Need Some VBA/Excel Ideas

I'm back at work after another year of uni and I'm keen to keep improving my VBA skills but I can't think of anything to make. I just made a quadratic solver with a user form which didn't take very long since it's fairly basic but I've run out of creativity. So I was hoping some of the slightly nerdier members might have some ideas for a spreadsheet I could create using some VBA which might be a bit of a challenge and will come in handy in the future. Or if you have any requests I'm open to any and all suggestions.

If you are bored and want to challenge yourself- find some detailed templates online for free and then back-engineer them. I do it with Photoshop, Flash, Premiere and After Effects all the time; you inadvertently will learn new tricks- and you get stuck just check out the template and BAM! Lesson learnt !

Make a 'Report Comment' thingo...

I HATE (did I shout that) writing reports for my students.

Normally I just copy and paste various reports for various types of students. They're individualised only by name.

My big issue is - I sometimes copy a girl one for a boy, and it goes home with "Shannin is a good student, she obviously likes Science." Unfortunately, Shannin is a boy!

So... Make me a decent spreadsheet that... 1) takes the comment, 2) puts he/she him/her himself/herself (etc) correctly, 3) their name (and any correct apostrophes) go correctly (ie Paul's or Tess') and (well, you know English better than me) correct grammar!!!



Impossible???

When done, I can test it for you!

lol ah yes report time. My fiancee is a teacher so it's all I heard about for about four weeks there. That sounds like a nice little challenge. String manipulation is always nice and tricky. Any chance you could send me a copy of something that I could use as a starting point?

Just quickly whip up the meaning of life. Excel should be able to tell you. I wil give you a tip, divide by Pi and you should get close lol.

If you really what you can make me a program for solving static forces in frame member/moment equations. I hate them so so much.

No it's alright I will do it the old fashioned way pen, paper, autocad, swearing and caring on lol. It's always fun doing stuff like that on no sleep after nightshifts.
