Hey there, I just got new blue tongue lizards... One of them seems to have wierd marks a scuffles on his back and on his head... Is this normal??? He looks like he is missing a few scales two but seems perfectly kind and calm...

Here are some pics...

Mmmmmm, yeah looks unusual:?
I'm definitely not an expert but it might be something to do with unshed, irritation....I don't know?

Looks like he's been attacked. Nice intermedia though.

Yeah, it's definitely fighting. My blueys have had the same thing. I was just as worried when I saw it, but it all heals and grows back. I've found if I make sure they're well fed and/or feed them separately, that I don't have any real issues. One of mine just likes getting all the food and being in charge of the water.

I'm not sure with blueys, but if they are the same sex, don't they fight. Another possibility is they are trying to mate and the males is biting the female to get a grip. Or is it trying to rub mites off?

As already determined, that scarring is from fighting. If it were breeding scars they would be mainly behind the front set of legs, possibly the side of the neck. The fresh scarring will shed off in time, however the lizards head will remain dimpled even though the colour/patterning usually comes back.
Nice intermedia though.
Definitely not an intermedia kiddo :)

Well the new ones have succussfuly bashed my old ones and bloodied them up... And are now beating on each other... What the hell lizards are insane... and I am not sure what to do...

Haha sorry I thought because of the orange part of the stripes.
Beauty of a scincoides then!

There were three together for about 10 mins then all hell broke loose... Then I put my male with the female and he tried to smash her then she smashed him and chased him everywhere and bloodied him up, then i put the females buddie in with her and she attacked him too... so right now the two new ones a male and female are together and my old one is on my shoulder scared...

pretty normal behaviour really, thats why they should be housed seperately till you work out who gets along and who doesnt!!

.....hope u have some spare enclosures,...
