New Enclosure Question...

hey all,
jus finished building my new 4x2x2 enclosure and jus gotta fit light,glass ect

the thing that has been bought to my attention is can i hav the basking area as my ambient heat source?

now b4 i get flamed for asking a newbie question, the enclosure i have is one i bought from a pet shop and is poo on a stick and the basking area is in the middle of the enclosure so little to no cool area.

yes, basking light can make your ambient temperature- the further away from the heat source, the cooler it is. will be fine as long as coolest part is above 20 or 22. preferably about 24-26 at cool end though.
