Howdy from the USA! Got my first Australian species in July last year, my 2 year old male olive, Donny. He's my first snake and it's been going great, though I've come across a question that my other groups haven't had an answer for. Since I got him, I've noticed he sleeps out in the open a lot. He's got 8 hides in his 182 cm viv which he uses sometimes, but more times than not he'll just be coiled up on top of his hide that I have set on the climbing shelf.
Maybe I'm too used to cryptic little geckos, but the boldness always struck me as being odd. Is that a common thing with olives, or the exception? He's a got a great attitude and was healthy at his last checkup, so I'm not worried about it, just curious.
