gday i have a female olive im planning on breeding this year . shes allways been a great feeder and never has a problem with coming out of her hide and enclosure to come bite me lol but the concern is she took about 14days to go through her shedding cycle and shed this morning . so tonight i when i went to feed her she didnt want to come out of her hide egerly like normal and just stayed in. she took the rat inside her hide followed by 2 more after that and when i went to check on her later she was curled up in the middle of her encloure flicking her tongue like crazy and moving her head left to right with quick movments as if shes like ...where the hell am i ?????? but i dont think thats what she is thinking lol. followed by laying perfectly still???? any ideas ???

sometimes I find with my jungle that when she has an extra long shed...and she can take as long as three weeks to shed that she is exhausted after it all.....it is like she is unselttled while the skin gets ready to come off even though she is cuddled up in her towel on her shelf and when she sheds it is a big effort....so I always let her sleep it off for 24/48 hours before feeding......

So maybe with feeding her so soon after her shed she is just tired....it is a big effort to coil and eat a rat and remember she has just got all her skin off......let the poor girl have a sleep......give her a few days and then see how she is....

If she still isnt right then a checkup at the vet might be the go

Double check your temps ....just in case

After shedding my jungle girl likes to feed the night after, every time.My sons bredli is a strange one cos sometimes he won't eat for nearly a week after shedding. Each snake has its telltale signs of hunger.
