Only 5 beardie eggs

Hi Guys I bought a breeding pair of central bearded dragon and in the past she has apparantly laid clutchs around the 18 but at about 9pm last night she started laying but only 5. She is eatting fine after the dropping of these eggs but I assumed there should/would be more. Any one got any ideas or suggestions comments I am a little confussed.

P.S. I dont think/hope she has become egg bound but what are other peoples thoughts

Less than favorable conditions for her to lay in may result in her not laying all of the clutch in one go. Can you feel if she still has eggs inside of her?

Hi wally76, she had a tub with vermiculte in in to a depth of about1.5 inchs. But she still decided to lay in the stones of her enclosure. I dont know 100% if i can feel any more eggs. How would you suggest improving her lay site so she will lay the remaining eggs? if there are any

How old is she do u know?
Watch her closely for any signs of malaise - not bright, not eating, not moving, hiding etc.
Less than favourable husbandry issues (not enuf heat/uvb/food) could also cause her not to produce as many eggs, age could be a factor.
Was she also bred with the same guy she normally has 18 eggs with?

Hi Lollypop, It is the same mate as previous she is said to be 4 years old but I have only had her for 3 weeks. She is eatting and moving around normally even eatting like a little pig as usual lol. she has a varied diet cosisting of fruit and veg, crickets, woodies and bearded dragon pallets, in the few good days of sun we have had since me taking over as owner she has been outside enjoying natural uv and her tank has uvb bulbs in it.

sounds like the beardie just hasnt been conditioned durring being gravid [ even more so before she was gravid]
