The mum is plain and the dad is patterned, they are all born fully patterned.Anyone on here got babies off me the last few years? If so got any pics, Im interested to see.

how much you sell bubs for? how many does your girl normally have?

are they as good to handle as a bluey? and are they hard to keep

Generally not as good to handle. Mine go for me at times and hiss, but not a problem as they are too small to inflict pain. Might have to keep handling a fair bit and hopefully they will get out of it!

Easy peasy to keep.

And they primarily eat snails. They have a tooth specially designed to crush the shell. My wild pink tongue had 32 babies last year!!!!!

And they are not fussy what type, so I use aquarium snails as they are much easier to supply

I had two of them- as a baby i found that one of them would not eat anything else other than extremely small snails (which i never had) or earthworms. When he got a littlebigger, i use to smash the snails to get the shell off so he could gorge himself on larger snails. Once it got to adult size it would eat other foods. They were great animals, think i have to get them again.

They have a good set of claws on them, great for kids soft skin :). I keep mine outside in Sydney, in a shaded enclosure. I feed only snails, but one will eat dog food that I put in for the cunninghams. As Danny said, they are from the Cyclodomorphus family (She-oaks & Slender Blue Tongues), this is a very angry genus, have a look a pics of this genus in a field guide, at least a few will have their mouths agape. One of mine is a tame as a T. Blue Tongue, though the claws can scratch enough to draw blood. For little ones, you can collect heaps of tiny slugs at night on the lawn (esp. if you have a dogs as the slugs feed on their poo) Adult's also love the gaint Leopard Slugs (3 snails in every feed!)

danny, how often do you feed in winter?

LOL, i sue to leave my dog's food bowl near the drain everynight, i would go out about midnight and the slugs would be everywhere. Nights where my dog would actually eat all of his dinner i would pour beer on the ground to attract them which would work as well.

My adults would gorge on the slugs too. I love pink tongues.
I kept mine indoors (south west sydney) and they were just fine.

My babies have never tasted a snail, neither have my adults for a few years now, drought stuffed that up,they get a varied diet of cat food, sometimes with raw egg mixed in(good for getting babies started as its slimey and snail like) banana, baby bearded dragon pellets and crickets.Never had a problem starting them on cat food with raw egg.
Hornet usually sell advanced young for about $50.
