Hi everyone my bearded dragon has been acting funny since the 20th of august when i changed her substrate from sand to fake grass. She is runing off at any sign of movement eg someone walk "s in the room or appoach's her enclsoure. Shes in a 18inche long by 18 inche wide by 2ft high enclosure i'm building her new enclosure which is almost finished. I kept her on the fake grass for 6 days people said to put the sand back in and see how she goes. Well i did she came a bit good but now shes starting to run off when people walk in the room not all the time maybe 3-4 times a day. Her temps are good 41 degrees on the hot side where she basks and 29 degrees on the cool side where she spends some time. Some days she will eat only 8 insects, some 13,some only 2-4.

Questions
1. Could she be acting like this cause the enclosure is too small?
2. could it be cause theres not much noise and activity in the room she is kept in? I do go in the room throught the day and do watch movies every now and then. The noise that she hears is mainly my blue quaker parrot talking and squawking, And occanionally the dogs barking.
3.or could it be the combination of the both?

I don't think she has parasites as she is still active, alert, eatting, pooing normal. The only thing out of the ordinary is twice a day she will poo normal eg brown or green poo with white urates then once in that day she will just urate with a fair bit of liquid that bit is new she never did that.

so u have a 11inch animal in a 18inch enclosure ?
id be a little pissed off if i was in the enclosure . once u get your enclosure your making finished and move ya dragon in id say it will go back to normal ........ beardies crack the ***** pretty easy , substrate change can do it.

Hopy she can move into in a month to 6 weeks still have to get some fake rocks so she can get closer to the basking light and the basking light.

Also my beardie won't accept any other substrate unless its sand. If i take the sand out and put in fake grass she eats then stops eatting completely. The reason why i'm trying to get her onto other substrate is she keeps biting and licking at the sand. So if i put her in this new enclosure with fake grass only will she learn to accept it or would she want her sand back?
