I wont be buying one at launch but will be within the first 12 months, will be getting an xbox as well. Release consoles of the ps3 were backwards compatible so i assume they will phase that out once they have enough titles on ps4.

Nah you put your disc on the ps4 and save some how and then you can play it so you cant play staright off the disc

I'll be getting one for sure. Won't be at launch though, there's still too much good stuff coming out on ps3 for me to stress about getting it early.
I won't be getting an XBone though, I went through 3 360's before I gave up and got a ps3, and the way Microsoft was basically trying to screw customers has put me off too. There'll be a couple of games I miss out on, but if Sony dominate MS in this generation perhaps MS will realise a few things about us gamers.

i dunno which one im going to get yet, been a huge fan of the xbox but they've really screwed the pooch on this latest release.. I dunno how i'd go using a ps4 after using an xbox for so long..

Dont get microsoft wrong, sony was going to apply the same restrictions. Neither company want there to be a market for second hand games.

I know with the psvita they already have the key pass system, 1 key pass free with the game that locks to the console. To purchase a second hand game you also need to purchase another key pass ($15).

Ive had no dramas with my ps3 or the 3 xbox's that i owned.

I can understand wanting to get rid of the second hand market. What would happen to the RRP of new games though? If they managed to get rid of the second hand market, and dropped brand new games to $50-60, then great. But at the current $90 for a bare copy of the likes of Call of Duty titles, it's rediculous.

Totally agree and especially when you pay so much for the console itself. But I guess that's apart of it.
Most the time I don't mind paying that much because the way I see it is, a movie goes for 120 minutes on average, going there with my partner costs me $31, plus popcorn and drinks an extra $20, so im already half way there to a game that i'll be playing for a hell of a lot longer than 120 minutes.

Does that make sense?

not too sure which way I will lean. I used to play ps3 for Gran Turismo but now I am over car games and my XBOX 360 has been the console I normally play. I am interested in the new final fantasy game but will probably stick with XBOX in the future. I would also really like a Wii u .

I totally agree. I should have added, I don't buy second hand, all my purchases are brand new, so this doesn't affect me anyway. It's other things MS were doing that annoyed me. Including needing to have internet connection to play.
For me, I'm thinking of revisiting my PS days and get the 4

Yeah they did, but it was the fact that they were going to, before the backlash they copped, that annoyed me. Besides, ps4 has some promising titles ;-)

Yes, yes they do. As long as I can play BF4, COD, Assassins Creed, I don't think it'll bother me that much. I'd just like to be able to play with my mates as well.. Knowing my luck, i'll get 1 console and they'll get the other >.<

One of my mates has already ordered the PS4, made the switch from Xbox. I dare say we'll all do the same.

I was going to get one... Then I found the cutest little jungle python :) My PS3 will have to do for now lol.

Cant wait for cod i like the zombies versions better but ghosts story line should be intresting i pre ordered the prestige edittion so im gonna have the game for ps4 before i even get console dam waiting lists

With locked titles you would assume the games rrp would be lower, but i dont think this is/will be the case. Dont be surprise if sony impliment key pass on the ps4 games, after all they are in it for profit.

I thought they recently back tracked on that idea? As well as the not being able to trade games..

Yes both companys have revisited there options on mandatory online checks and other things.

This was the original comparion on the consoles after sony removed restrictions.
