as long you don't do massive damage to the snakes brain or primary organs like heart or lungs you can hope only that the snake will leave her prey.

afrocks are very aggressive snakes that will fight everything they associate as prey or enemy so i guess the stabbings just were making the snake to press some more.

Did you actually read the story? They stabbed the snake multiple times with a pair of scissors.

That did not stop the snake, need to separate or destroy the brain function.

Even if you cut off it's head I think you'd still have to wrestle with it's body, they just keep going.

The body would aimlessly flop around, the way a chicken runs around after its head is off in preparation for the Sunday roast.
