I'm moving up to Queensland with my collection and need to know a few things from the locals regarding reptile legislation.

1. What type of permit will I need to apply for to keep my woma and rough scaled pythons (I understand woma pythons are classed differently up there).

2. I'm on a 'specialist keep and sell' permit in my current state, is this transferrable to the Queensland equivalent licence or will I need to prove myself to the relevent authorities all over again?

Any help by Queenslanders in the know would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Just get yourself a restricted PYTHON licence if all you want is unlimited restricted pythons
Otherwise (if you have/want elapids) get a restricted licence(the one for vens ect...)

I have lizards and frogs too, is there are general licence they all get lumped under?

$182.00 for 5 Years. Specialist Permit For all Rare, endangered reptiles and amphibians etc. Venomous requires proving your experience or course attendance etc.

Mate I would love to give you giudence, everytime we do so someone comes up with another story.
Do yourself & me a favour & check out a forum on this site called Queensland Licence.

Moving from another state you wil have to apply for a QLD licence through the QLD EPA. THis is no biggy & can be even done online very easily. Just logon to Qld EPA website & apply for licence.

Depending on the variety of reptiles you wish to keep in QLD depends on the conservation act 2006 as to if they are rare or near threatened species or not. The simple awnser as most people give is to ring the EPA hotline. But read the forum I mentioned.

Cheers & Welcome to the Sunshine State.
