Because I can see the effects, and study the theory and have run (high school) experiments of my own.

I have never purchased a bridge, so why would I think it's a bad deal?

Because someone is trying to make me accept a idea that seems too good to be true. Rather than accept the deal I would conduct an investigation into the authenticity of the deal. If the seller just told me to accept the deal without question I would think it is a con and walk away.

You believe them because you are willing to accept what you have been told, I am just doing the same thing. Why does it upset you so much that I don't agree with you?

1/ You evade my questions and repilies. I am quite willing to have a discussion with you re creationism and evolution. This is the standard pattern with creationists, A "fact" is produced, a counter arguement is proposed then nothing. for example, you impiled that because evolution was wrong because racsists used it, I countered with the chemical analogy then nada.
2/ In religious studies the preist HIT me for asking about dinosaurs. You don't hit a five year old for asking questions.

I beleive in evolution because science has evidence that can be produced and explained, and it all makes sense.

I dont believe in God because no one has ever shown me any evidence of his existance, except a book that any pissed idiot could have dreamed up, and it is highly unbelievable and doesnt make much sense at all.
The whole "God created all" story is a bit much to swallow, better effects than a good movie.
Show me evidence that he exists, show me something to convince me please, cause in my opinion religous groups prey on the weak and people in need of help, then milk em.
The Catholic church didnt get as wealthy as it is by being honest either, its the worlds biggest ever scam.

I respect your beliefs...but who made god??? Why is jesus so special??? Why would someone make a whole earth and then want to control our lives to the point that we are prisoners and to waste our time sleeping in church on a Sunday Morning when we could be sleeping in bed??

If you have ever read the history behind the books of the bible you will know half of it was 'creatively made up' by those who translated it. Even if there is a god, the Bible is about as true as a fricken fairy-tale

Fuscus don't bother mate, i hammered catholic school teachers about it for 8yrs and do you think they could give me any proof or any real answers......no.

Snakewrangler seems like a nice person, but people who belive in religon aren't going to change their minds no matter what we say so it might as well be left at that.

I wasn't allowed to and even got in trouble for reading books on evolution when i was in year 6 hows that for trying to push religon

So i say show me proof or don't talk to me about it, science has proof so unless the big man himself comes and says hello then i don't buy it.

I also went to a catholic school. Once I said to the priest 'all priests are good for is hitting (now days some worse things) kids.' And Guess what he did?? He hit me! I dunno what that story has to do with anything but yeah lol. I remember having to apologise for not being christian. And what about those annoying christians who try and make you 'believe'. worse then those bloody bastards on bikes. And what about christians going over to remote aboriginal communties and other remote places around the world to FORCE those poor people into believing as well.

With all the money the catholic church has they could put a stop to world poverty 3 times over. But they want us to give them money?? PFFT wankas.

Look at all the wars etc. in the world which cause thousands of innocent people to die...what does it ALL come down too? Religion!

religion causes SO many problems in the world IMO, mainly because people get so bloody obsessive about it! but in some ways its good too, sometimes it can give down and out people something to have faith in and a reason to try and fix their problems and regain control of their lives. having said that, im not religious and honestly believe the world would probably be a more peaceful place without it. Give me evolution baby, I can't prove it myself and I haven't done any direct research, but I have read the research by others and it is convincing. I agree with EM that there is probably more to the story, perhaps more than we are capable of understanding since we are products of the process and not outside it.

Like I said I can't prove it & creationists may be right. I reckon we shouldn't dis peoples beliefs too much; you're not going to change their mind but you will offend them. Live and let live...

I agree, i hav never seen god or anything to prove that 'god' is there. I know this is off subject but what has god actually done for us to have so many people worshipping. As u can see i believe in evolution.

This is not the kind of discussion I would join normally. People have their minds made up.
I've said before, it's not my place to correct anybody or to redirect their thinking by persuasive arguments.
