So my children's python just laid eggs and its my first successful breeding.
Anyway its a bit of a weird time I think since they basically just came out of their hibernation period she hasn't eaten in months and last time she shed was way back in May.
Do you think she & the eggs are at risk? I mean she looks healthy enough and has curled up protectively around her brood. Do they eat whilst looking after the eggs?
My real question is the male has gone nuts, he used to be really placid now he bites like a mofo and will get you from the other side of the cage but its more like a hunger bite than an aggressive bite only thing is we gave him two mice in a row and he is still nuts, bites and just latches on and tries to strangle your hand.
Is it normal for a children's to be THAT hungry out of hibernation? Does it have something to do with protecting his eggs...
my stimson is so fricken placid ive never had an issue
