I have a clutch of Childrens Pythons, hatched in November. The animals that are feeding unassisted on pinky mice are all regurgitating there meals after 2 days. Animals are housed individually in click clack containers that are partially sitting on a heat mat. Hot end is a constant 32 degrees.

Once the animals regurgitate they are not fed for a further 7 - 10 days and then more often than not regurgitate the next meal. Does anyone that has bred Antaresia childreni and suffered the same problem have any advise.

If you look at them from underneath, do they have a black line showing under their belly scales in the posterior 3rd?

What temp is cool end ?
sounds like the cool end is too low ,
should be no lower than 28c warm end 32c

The cool end is no lower than 28degrees. I will have a look for the black line under thier belly scales in the posterior 3rd tonight when I get home. Out of interest Magpie what does this indicate if it is evident?

how old are the pinkies you are feeding?

Are you handling them during the period between when they are fed and when they regurgitate? Don't hold them after you feed them, not for at least a couple of days...

Pinkies are only days old and hatchlings are not being handled at all
