Well turns out I went to grab some food from the pet shop and asked there. The lady said Mt gravatt had a great vet clinic there.before she even told me I asked if it was sonething like Brisbane bird an exotic and she said yes it was lol

I have dealt with Brisbane bird and exotic vets at Mt Gravatt for years, I have never had anything but excellent service and total piece of mind.If people want to tell me I am wrong, that's their choice, but I have many years of healthy, stress-free reptiles.

Thanks.seems different people have different experiences and opinions.do you see a specific person there when you take your pets?? And do you know what the price is for a general check up for a snake??
Don't fancy driving an hour, not even if he was Australia's top vet.other people might, good on them

I do not see the point in having a check up. If my reptiles are looking and acting healthy then why would they not be healthy.

Who said they were healthy??? I certainly didnt
I am talking about my experiences mate. I can not see your snakes or see how they act. I am not sure what is going on with this site lately with people jumping on things others say, people will stop commenting if it keeps happening.

yes I know exactly what u mean. You see straight under my other comment about the price on getting a check up, someone then decided to make the comment

“ I do not see the point in having a check up.if my reptiles are looking and acting healthy then why would they not be healthy”

if I'm not mistaken it seems that comment was meant for me.
if someone wants to take their pet in just for a routine check up (even tho they may act, look and infact be the healthiest pet in the world) then that's is up to them. Everyone is different.urs look healthy and u don't take them to the vet good on you.i have never taken mine to the vet, until recently I have noticed something so thought i would go get him checked out.

My understanding of a thread on a forum is a lot of people see and read the information being posted. Like I said the post was not directed at you even though it was inspired by your comment. I wanted others to see that even though some people take there reptiles for general check ups others do not feel the need. What I generally do is post without quotation for comments in general , post in quotation if the comment is directed towards someone and private message them if I want to have an off the topic discussion with them about something. If I disagree with something another poster says I will post my view and reasoning and certainly do not take the comment to heart and become defensive. Just to make it clear the comment was not directed towards you but was inspired by your comment for the benefit of other readers to see both sides of the coin. I have no problem if anyone wants to cautious with their reptiles and take them for regular check ups it is a lot better than the neglect you sometimes see. I hope the "something" that you have noticed recently turns out to be nothing.
Cheers
Andy.

Yes, I would of thought it might of been obvious and was a common practice not to go to a vet if your pet looks and seems healthy.
hence why I'm trying to find a good reptile vet so I can get mine checked out..
thanks I too hope nothing is wrong with him

just to add my two cents into this, I went to mt gravat and while i was there asked to get my bredli sexed and the vet told me that she wouldn't sex it as the snake was too small and didn't want to risk any damage to the snake.

Seemed very responsible and I think that the actions of one trainee nurse shouldn't reflect the establishment and the credibility of university graduate that have undertaken the same ammount of study as a doctor.
