hey all, sorry bout this.
My bredli has had a bad shed. I've been away for the last week, but he shed on Saturday and i didn't notice until now. the head of the old shed is still on and it's refusing to come off. i gave his a quick bath but i really can't convince him to keep his head under the water (and i don't want to drown him) so i gave him a few dunks but the skin still won't budge. When i pulled him out I heard that he wasn't breathing very well (hissing noise wen he breathed in and out). i'm not sure if he was like that before the bath, i didnt think to check.
so- if he was havin trouble before then he probably hasn't been breathin well since saturday, if he just got a bit of water in his nose then it should clear up(right?) but i still need to get that skin off :x
what else can i try?

P.S sorry if you dont understand any of this, i was sorta rushin writing it.

try putting him in a damp, warm pillow bag for say 20-30mins. the humdity and moisture should help loosen it up. for the breathing sound im of no assistance sorry.
cheers

anyone else got ideas about he breathing + what i need to do about it? i have him in a pillow case (inside out) that's damp, sittin near his heat light.

if ur worried bout the breathing thing then head down to the vet to get it checked out....one of my bredli ended up with a respiratory infection n it was lucky i got him to the vet wen i did...thers no harm in gettin it checked out

i'll leave it a few days and if he's still having trouble i'll take him to someone who can help.

good work mate. just make sure you dont overcook it ! make sure its not getting too hot in their for him

Best way I have found is to use some luke warm water in a large tub with a little dishwashing liquid...only fill the tub with about 10cm of water and put the lid on, Leave him to swim around for a few minutes while you watch him.

Breathing is probably associated with shedding but if it continues take him to the vet right away.

P.S I have been using this method for years without problem

i did the same with my jungle when he was constipated .... put him in a tub of warm water for 5 days, 10mins at a time ... whenever he'd come out, there'll be this whistling/hissing noise ... it didnt stay tho ... gone now ... must've been the water... if it continues, vet is ur best option ...
