Hey guys just a question how old do shinglebacks need to be before you can sex them

Dose anyone no the answer to this as a seller is trying to say that they are to young to sex but we think that he may just want to sell them and not actually no how to sex them

I am perfectly capable of sexing adult Shinglebacks. Head and tail shape as well as body length are all indicators of sex in adult specimens.
Juvs can not be accurately sexed.

Yer sorry dident mean to come out so abrupt (a few to menny beers lol) I just wonted to get a straight answer out of people about sexing them

So there is no way to prob them????

Probing any of the Tiliqua species seems to give mixed results. It has also been proven basically useless for Shinglebacks. See the book - Blue Tongued Skinks, Contributions to Tiliqua and Cyclodomorphus pg 39 -40.

i sex mine around 6 months of age just by tail shape and size and head shape and size and that seems to work very well anything sold before that time is done without 100% guarantee
