My jungle python is going through her 2nd shed since I have owned her. The first time she shed her skin completely with no problems. This time she seems to be having difficulty and the skin is coming away only in small pieces and she seems uncomfortable. Is this normal or is there a problem? If so what should I do?

this means its to dry
let her crawl around on a damp towl if it doesn't get it all off put her in some warm water

When my snake is coming into a shed, i would normally move the waterbowl nearer to the heat light to increase humidity..complete shed so far :)

thank you guys :) I'm still learning, I have tried making everything perfect for her and followed all instructions and advice from her breeder, she is so beautiful I would hate to think she's uncomfortable because I did something majorly wrong. This time round she didn't get milky eyes or look at all like she was ready to shed, last time it was easy to tell.

Yeah my female jungle didnt have milky eyes, just the scales would go dull n ugly ...
As she has dark-colored eyes, its difficult to tell ... or maybe its my eyes.. lol!

Post some after-shed pics if u can..!!

Lookup dysecdysis (i.e. shedding problems) on the Internet or preferably books/magazines. Usually the issue is environmental and it is as important to address the cause as it is to treat the symptoms. Perhaps if you describe the cage environment you may get some suggestions on preventing this in the future.

Spot on.

Moving your water bowl closer towards your heat source will create more humidity. Which will help give you a full shed and not all those torn little pieces.

put her in a tub with water and give her a good soak make sure the water is enough to fully submerge in she can soak for a few hours this usually helps alot ..then take her out put her in a damp pillowcase let her move around in there for a while if you notice that the skin is starting to lift you can put her in a towel and use that to help her...plus fix her cage requirements as was said by some others ..

ThankYou Everyone...

For for all your helpful advice and tips with Fey's shedding, :pI've made amendments to her home and she seems happier than ever. I used a damp towel to keep her wet while shedding, she seemed to like it so much I've left it as a fixture to keep the humidity and dampness in her home at a better level, here are some photos:D Thanks again for the help.;);)
