My coastal is about 27 months old and is 4 feet 2 inches in length. is this the right size he should be at this age. i have been told costals should be around 6 ft at the 2 year mark?

He is a male also.

thanks

Hey,

I've got a male coastal also.
He's 24 months old, and currently weighs in at 1250 grams, and is nudging 5 foot.
I consider him perfectly healthy, and he has grown at a noticeable rate, without it being ridiculous. He's currently feeding weekly/10 days on medium rats... occasionally 2 at a time.

What are you feeding him, and how often?
Also, how much does he weigh?

I am feeding him once every 2 weeks on medium rats. i havnt weighed him yet. but by feel he is atleast 1kg

I know of people that have gotten coastals to 6 foot in 12 months (not that i agree or disagree with those methods) I get mmine to 6 foot in easily 12 months though.

Instead of feeding him every two weeks, just feed him once every 7-10days. That should shoot him up a bit.
Is he a recently purchased snake, or have you had him for a fair while?

It is hard to overfeed a young snake , they just grow quicker . Just make sure they dont get fat , you should be able to clearly see the spine and back muscles as they move around .

The rats i am giving him are about twice the size of his head and still leaving a huge bulge in his belly
