Hi everyone

This is just a general question.

We have a five month old Jungle Python. She is in a 12 litre click clack. 32 hot end and anywhere down to 18 to 20 at the cold end.

She last fed 11 days ago (13/05/10) and had one pinky mouse. She prompty moved down into the hot end of her click clack on her tile and curled up. We have had her out once since she fed and she seemed very quiet and her skin seemed dry. Thinking she is going into shed I have left her alone.

I havent seen her go into shed really as her last slough was only a few days after we picked her up. which was on the 10th of April so her last shed was about 6 and a half weeks ago.

Last saturday (22/05/10) she got cloudy eyes. These have now cleared and her body doesnt look as dry........

I have been light misting her twice a day as the breeder suggested.

When I open her click clack to check on her she looks up at me and seems alert....thought she wont acknowledge hubby lol.

I suspect she is going to shed in the next few days?

Does this all sound normal ?

She is just so quiet and normally I know she is hungry because she starts hunting and of course with being on the bottom of the click clack she isnt giving any indcation she wants anything to eat...mind you I also know it isnt advised to feed during a shed. She also hasnt pooed for 9 days.

I am just checking in to see what people think......

many thanks in advance

Elizabeth :)

What you have described is normal, She should slough over the next few days.

Perfectly normal shedding process. You could probably bump up her food size aswell as a pinky mouse is fairly small for a jungle of that age.

sorry yes she has a pinky rat

and yes she did shed last night but managed not to get poo on her skin !! and it all came off in one piece.

I fed her this morning and she is sleeping it all off

so thanks for all your replies

Elizabeth
