hey i have two geckos both buaght as unknown sexes, they are both around the age of 6 to 7 months, i have noticed a lump under one of their bellies, i am unsure of what this is, i have marked these out on two different photos.
And also if anyone can tell the sexes by the photoes i put up please do.

first photo is a top viewof the gecko with the lump. the second photo is of the lump under the belly, third photo is of same gecko same place just different angle of the lump. fourth photo is of both geckos together and the last photo is the bottom of the other gecko to get sex.

im no expert sodont quote me on it but it culd be where the umbilical cord or wateva its called was attached to the yolk of the egg
cheers

so what do u think i have one male and one female?
and that she is pregnant?

It looks like both are females (unless they haven't yet developed yet, although by this time they usually have)
It is in the area of where the yolk is attached, perhaps the little one has an 'umbilical hernia'?

No he doesn't meant that, he means that the location of the lump is where the gecko was attached to the egg yolk in her egg. Consider it her 'belly button'

they both look like girls to me pal.

thanx heaps everyone, il take some more photos of them both to confirm the sex, i was hoping that one was male and the other female, cause now i have to choose which one i like best, and i love them both :(

Let me re-phrase my answers too.
I believe they are both female.
I'm not sure what the lump is, but the location of it suggests that it would have something to do with the attachment of the yolk sac. I'm not suggesting that it is an umbilical hernia as I have never heard of that.
And I am also not saying that this lump is her belly button either, but for you to understand what dscot60 was saying is that the gecko is attached to the yolk sac in the egg the same was as mammal babies are attached to the placenta, so on hatching you can usually see a little slit on the belly where the gecko was attached to the yolk. This little slit is like our belly button

ohhh i seee thanx jesspa, that helps allot, well il just check her/him up over the next couple of weeks and make sure he/she is fine.
and il go and take some more photos to confirm the sexes cause i would really hate to sell either of them

yep, you can keep them together, depending on your tank size. I won't keep any more than two adults together in a two foot tank - My adults have their own tank, and are together for a little while when breeding. But I think you could happily keep a male and two females together in a 3 foot tank. Just make sure that they are all getting enough food and have at least one hide rock each.

thanx jasspa, i will go and buy a bigger cage now and see what il do, i might put deviders in a big tank and when breeding season comes up il just take the deviders out.
Jasspa i took some more photos and i will load them up in a different forum for everyone to see and comment on the sex

theyre beautiful colours!! i love those things (adds to wish list,....)

thnx chris1 they are really great, and easy to look after aswel!
