It would have taken one bite for me to quit handling cobras. Then again, I wouldn't have been stupid enough to do it in the first lplace...
 
I know how he feels I got nailed by a common cobra in Singapore in 99 It was a rather nasty envemation and caused the deterioration of the upper surface tissue on my left thumb. This led to three operations in the Singapore general Hospital to reconstruct the tendon which was destroyed by the venom. To this day I only have partial use of the thumb.

obviously not the best experience of ur life. its things like this that make me warey of handling elapids. even if the same sideeffects arn't caused. even non deadly things i m warely of in the bush.

YOu should be wary of anything in the bush, especially if you haven't been into herps long. Anytimes should make people be wary of handling elapids, even most experienced owners don't do this. No exuse to be bitten.

Yes!! Especially at camping spots, they are insane! They jump on your car, and even steal your pegs. One chased my daughter once when she was a toddler, trying to get her biscuit off her.

Be afraid, very afraid!
