hi guys ive got an atherton jungle, a.k.a honey jungle and have had her for around 3 years, shes been a delight, a little touchie on and around her head area but never snappy like other jungles. all this changed around a month ago and she turned into a nightmare of a snake really living up to the jungle name and snapping at me given the chance. nothing has changed husbandry wise and she is being fed every 10 or so days. what the hell is wrong??
any ideas or comments would be great.

cheers.

hmmm not really sure if your temps ect are all good eating fine, maby check for mites or anything else in or near the enclosure that could be anoying it??
my jungle is quite placid however she did strike me as i put my hand in her enclosure the other day for the 1st time in months so possibly there senseing something of the atmospheric changes we have been geting since summer has started??

gl hope it settles back down for you

nah no mites, and yeah temps are as normal. i also hope it settles down, the option for turning her into a belt is looking better and better with every tooth she drives into me.

LOL that must be a BIG belt :p

they were the only things i could think of off the top of my head sorry

what size food are you feeding
when the snake is fed you should see a bulge in their tummy and they should settle and digest for about three days

maybe the food youa re feeding isnt big enough and she is just plain hungry....remember the weather has warmed up...i know my two are up and about much more

Its a snake and they bite. That's my tip. Unfortunetly they don't want to cuddle in front of the fire most of the time, they either accept handleing or don't easy as that. Sorry it's blunt but it's the truth

Has it been moved to a new place in your house? Mite need to up the food size if u can.

Do you use a hook to get her out of the enclosure? My jungle gets very cranky if I try to pull him out by hand but if I use a hook he is fine
