ive got a dual probe thermometer and it records the max and min temps for both the high end near the globes and the furthest end from the globe down low the
high end: max 32 min 23
low end: max 27 min 20
i have reset those for over a week so not sure when each extremity happened

So max temps are getting down to 23, min temps down to 20.Far far too cold for the snake to want to feed.

curious as to what size enclosure you are keeping it in and where it is located to get such a varient in the temps?

Exactly! Any time, day or night, my Stimmie can always find a spot that is at least 29 degrees and I suspect that is why feeding has been no problem for me.

He can always find a spot at 20 degrees too, but for some reason he doesn't want to. :)

temps

IT is a heating prob my stimmo's hot end stay's at a constent 30 degrees they feed every week without a miss..(year and a half now) . Keep that heat set to that and you wont have a problem...For more scent just prick the pinkies head with sumthing sharp and get sum scent out that might help... goodluck mate.

No amount ot tinkering with food items will help if temps aren't correct. If they haven't got enough heat they cannot digest their food,if they cannot digest their food they will die. They know whats best in that regard.

my hatchy childreni hasnt eaten for a month or so now but as long as the temps are right and it looks healthy it should be right as its winter as well it could just be the cold

so if the temps are allright why then is the hatchie not feeding your observation seems to contridict the direction the thread is going

Two main reasons why hatchies dont feed, temperatures related, too cold-too hot,and stress.Once these are sorted out and the snake in question has had a week or so of little distubance and the temperature is fine more than likely it will have a feed.Best of luck...

i am looking to buy a bhp male if somebody has one for sale..

Hi all I am experiencing very similar scenario to bootstrap, Our stimson has just come home he is four months old, He is out of the click clack he has fed once. I experienced some temperature irregularities and Morhpeus Jack went off the pinkies. What has thrown me is I have notice a bit of a temperament change, he's become more snappy! has anyone encounted this? all so I understand that I should be patient that morhpeus will feed again but at what stage should I worry if he doesn' t feed?

timewiz, if you have only just bought your stimson id suggest leave it for a week. he may be stressed thats why he is a bit bitey as he doesnt feel comfortable.

also, what are the temps normally? and iv heard that hatchlings can go off food even by a small amount of temp change.
