just checked on the babies and I found this one like this....I clean containers 1-2 times daily, but this ones container was very wet I tried feeding it last night which it did not eat, does anyone know what's going on? I checked it this morning and it looked normal no scale colouration like these photo's.. this baby is about a month old and one of mine, I checked all the rest and they are fine.

I checked out the temp in the container and found it was way to hot and the thermostat had malfunctioned...so I switched it with a microclimate B1 thermostat and its keeping temps at a stable 32deg. I am thinking its like singed hair its just discoloured the scales its not blistering, red and loss of scales due to a bad burn. I think it got to close to the heat tape/cord and burnt its scales.

so you think it looks like snake poo I wet it but it did not rub off.

Is the heat tape underneath or on top? I would have thought that the burns would be underneath the snake from heat tape?

there was a little bit of the cord that came down from the top and went down the side of the rack prier to me fixing it before. which if it touched it it would have had this happen to it...but without being there when it did it I cant really say this is what actually happened.
