Hi guys,my beardie has a swollen leg he can run on its and its the foot he had the cut on,i hope its not serious,it doen't seem to do him any harm,he isn't in pain limping or
lifting it:p,my mum said to wait and see what happens.

because he is my very first reptile i hope hes alright.:(

any tips would be most apperciatated,

cheers Issy:D:D

Can you post a picture? Those always help to give a better idea - better safe than sorry.
:)

Strange... so you said there was a cut? Can I ask about that? Did you put on any saline solution or something similar? It may be infected...
:(

Hi - if he had a sore, now the leg's swollen, you'd imagine there's an infection there?
Even though still walking around, beardies are wonderful at disguising health problems until they're on death's door.
Vet visit & possible antibiotics sound the go!:)

Second this... reptiles are masters of hiding it - ask my bluey that dropped dead! Best of luck and please keep us posted!

+1

ok then,i forgot he's only little ive had him for about 4 months but the cut was on his foot
and it was about 6 weeks since i put treatment on,then he shed but until now i
noticed it,and after 6 weeks since put the treatment on it wasn't swollen and now it is.

yeah it would be a great idea but my camera take terrible pics only somtimes.

good news the bumps gone down a bit,i was thinking maybe he has grown more on that leg coz
he's growing more every day

If the bump has gone down, then it couldn't have been that it was growing unevenly - it can't un-grow ;) I doubt this would have been the case regardless.

Keep an eye on it - if it's looking okay then it may be clearing up itself. If it gets worse, I'd head to the vet.

Let us know how you go :)

swollen leg

my pygmy beardie had a swollen foot after losing a toe it ended up infected and had to put her on antibiotics. its best to do that because if you don't u never know what might happen. now shes a happy little dragon:D

Issy, just ask your parents to ring the nearest reptile vet & ask how much it'd be so u can all decide together whether it's worth it - an expert might be able to let u know if it's worth ignoring.

im not sure our vet does reptiles but i did see a turtle there or i guess i could ring my uncle
he knows alot about reptiles ,he has a frog pond,he has owned a snake

If you're in Adelaide, aren't there a couple of pet stores there where the guys also breed their own beardies & have done for yrs??? Not 100% sure on it though. If your uncle hasn't had much to do with lizards, he may not be much help, but at least your starting to think about it, which is great! If your vet doesn't deal with reptiles, they may know who does. Good luck, & if u do get to the vet with him, let us know the outcome!!
