Hey Everyone,
i got my first snake about 4 -5 days ago, it is a children's python which is 11 monthes old and about 30cm long, i let him settle in for 2 days like i was told then gave him a feed. On Sunday night i fed him 2 pinkies which he took no problems and without hesitation :) but last night my brother knocked my power board at about 4:30pm and i didnt think anything happened but at midnight that night i realised he knocked the power for the heat mat out.
I read on this that temp change can stress a snake and make it regurgitate its food.
Would the time that the heat mat was knocked out affect my snake at all? :?

If he goes a long time with out the right temperature he may regurgitate him food, but he should be ok i would not worry.

Just put the heat straight back on and I think you will find he will be fine. Yes changes can stress them, and it is important that they are kept warm when they have eaten but your heatmat was out for 8 hours. Don't think there is much to worry about. Just keep an eye on him, all the same, to make sure he food lump goes down and doesn't swell up. Sometimes when they aren't warm enough gases from the dead food can build up inside them and their food can rot, but so long as the heat is back on, don't panic, he should be fine. They really are tough critters.
