A couple of days ago I thought about very hot summer temps inside my house (it's a fairly small home and is prone to overheating).
I tested my A/C unit, and it seems to be able to handle blackouts without losing track of timers and on/off states. I visit grandparents and family every 3 weeks and I am away from home for 4 days. I had been concerned that while I was away the A/C would get knocked out by a thunderstorm and not come back on. But I tested it out thoroughly about 6 times, and each time it came back on without any trouble, even remembering the timer settings. The A/C unit probably has some special chip built in that "saves" the timer and on/off status in some sort of memory.
I'm looking at getting a couple of Vision enclosures (these are very nice) for my soon-to-be womas, I've already got the thermostat taken care of, my old heat mat (from 10 years ago) wasn't working so I will be getting a new one along with a "gun" type thermometer which I've heard are very good at taking accurate temps.
