I've been trying to work out how to insulate my shed (a stock standard steel/aluminium shed) so I can move my gecko, dragon and skink enclosures out of the house - first I thought I would line the inside of it with foilboard but I'm worried that I might stuff this up, so I did a bit of research on the net and discovered a product called thermilate. You add this to paint and then paint the outside of a building (i.e. a shed) and it is supposed to cool it down in the summer and keep the heat in in winter.
Has anyone used this product for this specific purpose before?
If so, was it effective as an 'insulating agent' alone, or did you still need to line the inside of the shed with traditional insulation?

Thanks in advance for help and suggestions.

:)

not sure how good it would be without the walls inside sheeted, as far as i know that product that you are talking about has not been on the market long enough to give a true indication of how good it is. if it was me i would insulate the walls and put in a wirly bird or two depending on the size of the shed, as for painting, paint the outside in a gloss acrylic (weathersheild x10 ) in the lightest possible colour to reflect the heat.

you can build a second roof out of shad cloth about 20cm from the shed roof it is very effective..................................................... Are you a painter puggs....LOL
