Looking at the URS basic thermostats and another type (dunno the brand) but its a digital one on reptile direct website. One only goes to 30 the other 50 but looking more for pro's and con's about digital vs non digital.

Anyone?

I cant say anything about the Reptile Direct ones as I haven't used any of them, but I use a Computech digital and love it! I use to use one of those basic URS analogue ones but had trouble with an unusual faulty one (see thread, my post #33...http://www.aussiepythons.com/forum/general-herps/warning-do-you-use-a-basic-thermostat-104342/page-3). This new digital one is so accurate and less chance of the snake bumping the setting. Theres another thread, I'll look for it and post it here...

Ah..its for beardies not snakes so shouldnt have that problem unless they are super smart & adjust the dial...lol.

Thanks!

This is what I'm looking at...(Not worried about the brand its just example of the types)

Digital ones used for Ducted Heaters are great. That is what I am using, I use a Brivas Electronic Thermo, accurate as..

if its for beardie i would either not worry about a stat or get the one that goes to 50 degrees

Thanks for the replies. Just going to go with the first one & put it in the middle of the enclosure. That will work good.

One of the problems with most digitals is that they need batteries and when the battery goes flat they just switch off. Anything that does not require a battery is a much better option.

do you know if they need wiring up? or they just plug in?

damn thats not cool.. is it easy enough? (I know electrician speech will be coming soon..)lol but honestly is it basic wiring?
