G;day all, hoping some might be able to help with a small problem..

Ive just found out I need to relocate states in 3 weeks. I will be driving myself (with another) there which is expected to take at least 29 hours...most likely over two days.

I want to bring my pet turtle and my pet blue tongue with me and I was wondering what the best way to transport them would be. The turtle, being aquatic, is of more concern naturally...how do I make this as comfortable and as stress free, at least for the pets.

Any help, advise, tips etc is highly appreciated!!

Queensland...
Im aware of licencing etc....all thats under control..
its the actual move itself...the drive that worries me.

How should my turtle be transported etc.

I believe that if you look at your local EPA or Parks and Wildlife website they generally have suggestions on how to transport animals, well I believe that QLD EPA does have them.

Good luck.

Hey, you're finally making the move!:D

I haven't transported turtles before, but I would think if it is in a smallish shallow tub (with a lid) and a small amount of water in it (like 1mm or less deep), it should be fine.. just put it somewhere it wont get bumped around that much and flat!

In regards to the bluey, I have transported beardies, and just put them (hatchies) in a small tub with newspaper shreddings to stop them being bashed around or incase the tub got upturned (i.e. in a car crash - which mind you, has happened before with me and a snake surviving :) errr... yeh... RANDOM, but a worst case scenario example for ya anyways )...actually I think thats what I did with my snakes, not lizards... I just wedged the tub behind the seat flat on the floor where it couldnt move around (the tub) I think... or I nursed it...cant remember it was that long ago...but they were fine and it was a 2-3day trip, gave them all access to water as soon as we got to the motels and then removed the water for travel (obviously). I think I put some newspaper shreddings in with the lizards too, but not as much... Not sure, but yeh... Hope that helps :) Let us know how you go!
