Damn that's big. The fires are still going rite? At least this will help.
Must be tough on the legions of Orcs round your ways. Do they get agitated at the hot weather?Last 3 days here have been 40 degrees, 22 and 39. Its like our weather is trying to prove its versatile haha

Bit of a weather nut myself. Love storms and severe weather but havn't had a single storm so far this season. The wet here has been an absolute failure so far but the Coral Sea is showing signs of stirring from its slumber in the next 2-3wks...
Feel free to grab some from our area. Having a look at the radar, its looks like we may have another one fairly soon. Our Wet is a complete fizzer in Darwin so far. Hopefully it goes nuts in Feb/ March or there'll be no run off fishing this year.

Seriously, have some of mine. Another 221ml in 70 minutes just now. Thank goodness I don't have outdoor pits.
down here we get so little rain that we measure it in points ( 4 points to a mm) and we can measure it in a rain gauge that only holds 25mm of rain, what the hell do you measure 221mm in? are your rain guages made out of 44 gallon drums? go to bed nice clear skys empty 44 wake up i the morning nice clear skys and a full 44 gallon drum
i like my story far better......yours is far to scientific!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when it rains here we go out count the dots on the ground by this we can determine exactly how much rain has fallen over a square mm and by that we can tell how many points we have had....LOLTo be precise, we use several dozen electronic gauges places on overflow pipes into dams and rivers to determine water levels and also excess water release into the river system & ocean. These gauges are place over a wide area but the data is gathered and then correlated on a per acre basis on land or a per liter basis when released into rivers to determine how much water hit the ground in a set area. In the dry, generally none. In the wet, best recorded by the Mine was 349ml in 27min although I have not experienced it here to date.
Hope that explains the lack of 44gal drums here

Ask and ye shall receive. The Bureau has issued a severe weather warning for buckets of rain. There's a tropical low in the Gulf of Carpentaria and one likely brewing in the Coral Sea. It's going to be an interesting weekend.
