My 2 cents worth.
I understand the reason for locking off a particular thread as I could see that it was about to descend in back biting and name calling.
I didnt think Greg had crossed the line, merely stated the bleeding obvious.
At least I read all the posts properly. Unlike the majority of posters on that particular thread.
Greg, I am afraid that smiley faces et al are a requirement at times. Its not what you write but how it is read.
Wit is often construed as sarcasm and the much maligned sarcasm is often taken as a personel jibe.
It is disappointing at times to see a good thread descend into petty point scoring but its not the end of the world and generally good advice will be in amonst it.
Apart from the juvenile name calling the Chondro post was most informative and again Bob Withey shows that being armed with the facts will carry you over the line in the end. Sometimes its worthwhile to sit back and take it in. I wonder if Im related to Bob Buckley.

And the honest and forthfight way Slatey and Greebs deal with things. And funny. lol

Most of us want to have fun and learn. I'm not a scholar just a herper, but if I want an argument on a full scale I'll go to the pub {lol highly unlikely} or if I want to call people names - I'd rather do it to their faces. Exspecially if I've never actually met them.
We can all have bad reactions to some topics - but there's a matter of PMs and selfcontrol

Phil and Greb's ocasionall jokes are apreciated by many and by my opinion They do not flooding forums to much.
Something will be missing on APS, if they stop doing that.
They earned certain status here on our site over the years.
And do not forgot that Greebs is oficial escape goat here.
That is why I am not interfeering with regular Farkurnels atacks against him. Grebs is oficially blamed for everything what is going wrong here. LOL

I have no problems with Greg's jibes, I like to think that I give as good as I get.
As Slatey pointed out, most questions are answered before they drift off topic and occassionally you still learn something.

I have been round quite a long time on aps,have made some brilliant freinds & learnt a hell of a lot on the way.I have seen times were greebs was looked at the same way as greg n greg looked up to the same way greebs is now,oh how times change.I think new members just see one side of a story & havent a clue how things used to be,i think even you slatey seem to think more of the bad than the positives.I have a question for you jan,was it necessary for you to have a stab at greg in that thread?or could you have put aside the personal issues that you have with greg & leave it alone!!Its so easy for you jan to say like it or lump it,its my way or the highway,& say it is your site,yes it is your sight but do you think that little of the members,to beleive that no one on this site feels like they are part of something they also love.I mean you can say what you like against forum rules & no one can reply to defend themselves or deemed a problem,i was always under the impression that a family is only as good as its leader,maybe if you lead the way others will follow.We have all had great times & been great freinds otherwise greg myself n few others would never of been made moderators on this site,myself i can say was extremely hurt at the fact of being stripped without so much as a word from you jan.Yes i was bitter at the start,but i try never to hold a grudge & move on with things,maybe others on this site should do the same.Jan i feel you are as much responcible for gregs remarks as he is,if you didnt start he wouldnt of started this thread,im on no sides yes greg is a good friend,but i am trying to be diplomatic n share a few facts & history.Im not trying to pick on you jan just merely pointing out the same thing you do theres no need for personal attacks.

Yep I am always protective if I feel that somebody is putting our group down. It is against rules to doo this and when that happends, I always jump straight after the person. Sorry, but after so many bad experiances I had by runing this site, I decided that is better to do that then start strim of winging posts rubishing great group we have here.
I will keep doing that when ewer I see somebody posting on public forum negative post against APS or APS members. Sorry again.
I have nothing personally against Greg, He is good man. I just wish he would not do complaint all the time about the way we are her on APS. Majority people do like our site exactly as it is, and people who do not like it should try to respect it, or leave, if our way is so bad for them to tolerate.
Again, I would jump on anybody trought when I think post is oriented negatively against our group no personall grudge. It is my job.
I respect your opinion popp, but we will run this group exactly the way we doit now with no changes. Since we doing that, we do not have that many problems like before.

You're guarding against the wrong thing Jan. The only real trouble this site has EVER had is with ONE person. He hasn't been seen for months. You keep harking back to the previous trouble and using it as an excuse to repress anything that is said against popular opinion. You say that most people are happy with the way you do things here. Jan, you should see how many PM's I get when something like this comes up agreeing with things I've brought up. They come from some very unlikely people, I'm sure you'd be shocked by who does PM me with support.
Anyway, I'm just trying to point out some discrepancies that occur here. Nothing more.

I think you miss read my post jan,i was not suggesting any changes,well other than the 1 thing bout sticking to the rules.All i suggested was if you lead by example & not make personal attacks,meaning you suggest to use pm's,couldnt you have done this instead of in the forum.You have the power to lock threads,delete anything you deem unfit,i agree that this should be done,rules should be abided by,by everyone members & especially moderators.Am i wrong in what i say jan do you agree that this should be the way.

You have point there popp. I should PM him first. I did that previously on simmeler ocasion and it worked, he backed up and stopped for some time. That was eror on my side.
And Greg I know that some people are not happy. But I am not changing anything because of few people our group have hundreds of happy members, and they are more important to me.. I understand that if that group have better way to do things, they would do that in they own site and do not wory about us here.
Again, there is many herp communities, they are all different and every person should find the one they like. APS is run the way mods decided to, and people who like democracy shoud find them self one of the ... free to post anything one.
I wish if you guys would let this discussion die, You did explained what you want, and we are not willing to change. So there is not point to post any more complaints.
